"Tombo" (蜻蛉, dragonfly) translates literally as "victory bug." In feudal Japan, the dragonfly symbolized strength, agility, and protection. It was seen as an auspicious omen because dragonflies were said to not retreat but to only move forward.
The Tombo Bujinkan Dojo is based out of Worthington, Ohio and is led by licensed Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu (武神館武道体術) instructors. Classes are held at 2246 W. Dublin Granville Road (Studio Glow Fitness).
The Tombo Bujinkan Dojo has cooperative relationships with the Central Ohio Bujinkan Dojo, the Orange County Bujinkan Dojo (CA), the Fairfield County Bujinkan Dojo (OH), and other related schools throughout the United States.
Justin is a licensed instructor in the Bujinkan with nearly 40 years of martial arts experience. He also holds rank in Matsubayashi Ryu Karate and Judo, and is an OPOTA-certified Defensive Tactics Instructor. Justin is also an OPOTA-certified firearms instructor and is trained in tactical operations, dignitary protection, and ground defense tactics.
John is a licensed instructor in the Bujinkan with nearly 50 years of martial arts experience. He received his Bujinkan black belt while training in Japan in 2005. John is also a black belt in Judo and has studied a variety of other martial arts systems.
